Banana bread | eggless whole wheat banana bread | Banana Cake

Whole Wheat Banana Bread”  is healthy take on regular cake and bread recipes. You will find most ingredients for this at home and requires no extra equipments. Just mix all ingredients and make batter and cook in oven for sometime. This can be a tiffin recipe for your kids who do not like roti or chapatis. This is made of whole wheat and has goodness of bananas which is all we want for a healthy delicious snack for ourselves and our kids.



Serves: 1 bread loaf
Preparation time: 10 mins.
Cooking time: 40 mins.

Ingredients:

4 ripe banana
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 ½ cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
⅓ cup oil
⅓ cup raisins

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius. Spray bread tin with nonstick cooking spray or grease it with cooking oil.
  2. In a medium bowl, take 4 bananas and mash them with help of fork. Now, add in sugar, vanilla essence and oil to it and mix.
  3. Now, sift the dry ingredients in the same bowl. Sift the whole wheat flour, baking soda and baking powder and salt  into it.
  4. Mix well to incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients so that they form a smooth batter.
  5. Now, fold in raisins in the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased baking tin.
  7. Cook the bread at 180 degree celsius in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the toothpick is clear.
  8. Allow the bread to cool for 30 minutes in the tin and then demould it.
  9. Allow the bread to stand alone for 10 minutes so that it cools down and then slice into pieces.
  10. Enjoy with a glass of milk or as is for a healthy tasty snack.
