Milk Cake | Milk Cake from Ghee residue | Leftover milk solids from Ghee

milkcake1.jpeg

I have been making ghee / clarified butter at home lately and was having a lot of ghee residue with me. Every time, I used to make ghee, I would have milk solids (white-golden) leftover which I was not using. I read a article somewhere that it is very high in protein and energy. So, I decided to use it to make “MILK CAKE”, that my little ones could munch on and gain its benefits.

I made this recipe in just 5 minutes in total after making ghee. This is just three ingredient recipe and will definitely blow your minds and then you will never throw away those milk solids or give it to your maids or house helps.

Serves: 4-6
Preparation time: 5 mins.
Cooking time: zero mins.

Ingredients:

200 gms. Khoya / leftover milk residue
4 tablespoons milkmaid / sweetened condensed milk
4-5 cashewnuts for garnish

Directions:

  1. Take the khoya/ ghee residue in a mixing bowl when it is still warm after making the ghee.
  2. Add in sweetened condensed milk to it. Mix to combine.
  3. In a rectangular plate/tray, which is greased with ghee, put the mixture and flatten with spatula to form a uniform layer.
  4. Refrigerate plate for 30 minutes or until the milk cake is solidified.
  5. Cut into rectangular bars and garnish with cashews.
  6. Enjoy homemade milk cake!!
